GitHub Actions
GitHub Actions runs workflows from your repository’s .github/workflows/ directory. One workflow step calls the Testsigma shell script, so every commit triggers the test plan and waits on the result.
Prerequisites
- An API key, the test plan ID, and the script (
run_smoke_tests.sh) committed to the repository.
Set up the workflow
Section titled “Set up the workflow”Create a .github/workflows directory in your GitHub repository if it does not already exist. Each YML file in it defines one pipeline, so add as many as your build processes need. This example uses testsigma-cicd.yml, which runs on every commit and invokes the script:
name: Testsigma testson: [push]jobs: run-test-plan: runs-on: ubuntu-latest steps: - uses: actions/checkout@v4 - name: Trigger Testsigma test plan env: TESTSIGMA_API_KEY: ${{ secrets.TESTSIGMA_API_KEY }} run: | chmod +x ./run_smoke_tests.sh ./run_smoke_tests.shSet the script inputs
Section titled “Set the script inputs”The shell script targets a specific test plan through two keys, set along with any other parameters it accepts:
TESTSIGMA_API_KEY: an API key from Settings > API Keys.TESTSIGMA_TEST_PLAN_ID: the plan’s ID, from Test Plans > CI/CD Integrations.
