Jira

Jira integration pushes bugs from a run result straight into a Jira project. Screenshots, annotations, and step context travel with the ticket. Connecting takes your Jira account URL, username, and an API token.

Prerequisites

  • Your Jira Account URL, Username (email), and a Jira API Key.
  1. Open account settings: sign in to Jira, click your profile icon, and select Account Settings.

  2. Open security: on the Account page, go to the Security tab.

  3. Open the token list: under API Tokens, click Create and manage API tokens (labeled API Tokens in some accounts).

  4. Create the token: on the API Tokens page, click Create API token. In the Create an API token dialog, enter a name and click Create.

  5. Copy it: in the Copy your API token dialog, click Copy, then click Done.

  1. Open integrations: from the left navigation bar, go to Settings > Integrations.

  2. Enable Jira: turn on the Jira toggle.

  3. Enter the details: in the Jira Details dialog, fill in Account URL, Username, API Key, and Confirm API Key.

  4. Save: click Save & Enable.

The fields map to your Jira account like this:

  • Account URL: your Jira URL, in the form https://{organizationname}.atlassian.net/.
  • Username: your email address.
  • API Key: the token you generated above.
  1. Open the result: go to Run Results, open the Test Plan Result, then open the Test Case Result where you want to report a bug.

  2. Start the report: click Report Bug.

  3. Pick Jira: in the Report overlay, click the Jira icon.

  4. File it: review the details and click Report Bug.

The Report panel, with Jira picked as the bug tracker

When the bug is created, Testsigma automatically adds test result context to the Jira issue, including the test execution video and step screenshots.
