Step Groups
A step group is a set of test steps you save once and link to multiple test cases. Steps that repeat across cases are maintained in one place instead of being added to each case by hand.
This page covers creating a step group, building one from steps you already have in a test case, adding it to a test case, and editing or deleting it.
Create a step group
Section titled “Create a step group”-
In the left navigation, open Step Groups.

Click Create Step Group.

On the Step Group Details page, enter a Title. A Description is optional.

Add the test steps.

(Optional) Attach files such as screenshots, logs, or documents, up to 25 MB.

Click Create Step Group.
Create a step group from a test case
Section titled “Create a step group from a test case”Use this when the steps you want to reuse are already written in a test case.

In the left navigation, open Test Cases, then create or open a test case.

On the Test Case Details page, click Create Step Group. The Select Steps for Step Group overlay opens.

Select the test steps to include.

Click Create Step Group. The Create Step Group page opens in a new tab.

Add or change steps as needed, then click Create Step Group.
Add a step group to a test case
Section titled “Add a step group to a test case”-
In the left navigation, open Test Cases, then create or open a test case.

On the Test Case Details page, click Add Step Group.

Select the step group, then click the plus icon (+). The step group is added to the test case.
Edit a step group
Section titled “Edit a step group”-
In the left navigation, open Step Groups.

Click the ellipsis icon (⋯) next to the step group, then select Edit.

Change the title, description, attachments, or test steps. Changes save automatically.
Delete a step group
Section titled “Delete a step group”-
In the left navigation, open Step Groups.

Click the ellipsis icon (⋯) next to the step group, then select Delete.

On the Delete Step Group? dialog, select the confirmation checkbox and click Delete. The step group is removed from the list.
