Explore and Automate
Agentic Learning runs each manual step of a test case against your live application and generates automated steps from the result. You write no scripts.
Start a session
Section titled “Start a session”You need a test case already saved in your library with manual steps, and your application reachable from a cloud environment, either at a publicly accessible URL or through a configured test environment.
Two entry points open the same panel, which is labeled Explore and Automate in a review and Learn and Automate on a test case.
-
Open a test case from your library, or from a review in Test generation and quality.
-
Click Explore and Automate, or Learn and Automate.
-
Select the Application type: Web.
-
Under Test Lab, select Testsigma Lab.
-
Click Launch. A new browser tab opens with the Agentic Learning panel.
Control the session
Section titled “Control the session”The Agentic Learning panel opens alongside the browser and lists the steps of your test case. Each step gets a checkmark as the session validates that step. The session starts as soon as the panel opens.
Panel controls
Section titled “Panel controls”- Start Learning Live App: starts the session. It appears while the session is still waiting to begin.
- Record Step: records the current state of the browser as a step. Use it if a step was missed, or to add a step that isn’t in the original test case.
- Pause: stops walking through steps and waits for you to resume.
- Resume: continues after a pause.
- Stop: ends the session without generating automated steps.
Session states
Section titled “Session states”| State | What it means | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| Learning | Agentic Learning runs each step in order. | A spinner on the current step, and the status “Learning…” in the panel. |
| Needs your input | A step can’t be completed without guidance. The session is paused. | A banner on the test case view reading “Atto is waiting on your input to continue learning”, with a Go to Session button beside it. |
| Completed | Every step is validated. | Checkmarks on the steps list, and the Generate Automated Steps, Save to Library, and Reject buttons. |
| Generation Failed | Automated steps couldn’t be generated from the session. | A “Generation Failed” error with an Edit option. |
On the sprint or Adhoc session view, the test case carries its own status while a session runs: learning in progress, waiting on input, or automated once the steps are saved.
Provide input when a session pauses
Section titled “Provide input when a session pauses”-
On the test case view, click Go to Session in the banner. The browser tab holding the session opens.
-
In the browser, complete the action that couldn’t be performed, such as a CAPTCHA or a multi-factor authentication step. The session resumes automatically once you finish.
Do not close the browser tab before you complete the action. Closing it ends the session, and you start a new one.
Generate and save the automated steps
Section titled “Generate and save the automated steps”When a session completes, the learned steps aren’t automated steps yet.
-
Click Generate Automated Steps. Arcus converts the learned steps into automated steps.
-
Review the generated automated steps.
-
Click Save to Library.
-
Select the folder where this test case belongs.
-
Click Save. A success screen reports how many steps were automated, how long the session took, and an estimate of the time saved against running the case manually.
-
Click Go to Test Case to return to the test case detail view.
Click Reject to discard the steps this session generated. The test case stays manual, and you can start a new session.
Run the steps with Copilot
Section titled “Run the steps with Copilot”When a session completes, Run with Copilot appears in the panel. Copilot execution runs the generated steps in a live browser.
-
Click Run with Copilot. A dialog confirms “This ends your Agentic Learning session and opens Copilot in a fresh machine.”
-
Click Continue. The Agentic Learning session closes and a new browser tab opens with the Copilot panel, which starts executing the steps.
-
When execution finishes, a dialog reports “Test Case Executed Successfully.” Click Save Test Case.
-
Select the folder and click Save.
-
Click Save and End or Reject and End to close the session.
Re-learn a test case
Section titled “Re-learn a test case”After a test case is automated, Re-learn and Automate replaces Learn and Automate on the test case view. Use it when your application has changed and the automated steps no longer match.
-
On the test case view, click Re-learn and Automate in the top action bar.
-
Complete the dialog as you did for the first session, then click Launch.
-
When the session completes, save the new automated steps to your library. They replace the previous ones.
The previous automated steps stay in your library until you save the new ones. Rejecting the new session discards only what it generated, so the original steps remain.
