Quadwave adopts low-code automation to accelerate enterprise release pace by 5x

Reliable, low-code test automation enabled the software services provider to accelerate QA by 5x and deliver fast, deterministic feedback to its enterprise clients on release days.

Quadwave is a global software solutions company. It provides consultancy, architecture, design, and development services to enterprises. The services provider has multiple clients in high-stakes sectors like healthcare and financial services. QA, therefore, takes a heightened significance.

“It would take anywhere between 2-5 days to design and automate a complex, multi-device E2E scenario using Selenium or Appium-based frameworks. With Testsigma, it takes us less than an hour.”

QA Engineer, Quadwave

“Until about a year ago, we were manually executing 800-900 test cases for one project,” says Debadatta Mohanty, QA and Project Manager at Quadwave. However, manual testing could not match the client’s release velocity.

“New builds came in on Friday, and deployment would be scheduled for Monday. So we were spending our weekends verifying the builds and sending issues we encountered to the engineers,” says Debadatta.

Test automation with traditional frameworks couldn’t yield immediate RoI. “On the projects where we automated testing with Selenium, the framework setup alone took us a month. Hiring new resources who were proficient at it would take at least another month, with two additional weeks for knowledge transfer,” Debadatta says.

To de-risk client releases at speed, Quadwave needed faster, more reliable automated testing. “We needed a solution that would let us automate tests the way we listed them in excel sheets: in plain, human-readable English,” Debadatta says.

Scaling web, mobile, and desktop app automation with one platform

Quadwave had previously tried a number of open-source and proprietary solutions that promised faster automated testing and build times. “Only Testsigma matched all of our requirements,” Debadatta says.

The team piloted Testsigma with a project that had over 600 test cases for web, android, iOS, and desktop apps, and APIs regression suite.

5x faster QA and minimized developer pain

With low-code, low-maintenance test automation, Quadwave’s QA team delivers reliable feedback to engineers 5x faster. “We don’t disturb engineers on weekends anymore,” Debadatta says.

“It would take anywhere between 2-5 days to design and automate a complex, multi-device E2E scenario using Selenium or Appium-based frameworks. With Testsigma, it takes us less than an hour,” says Rasmirekha Moharana, QA Engineer at Quadwave.

Test maintenance is assisted with AI “If a new build has some changes that may affect our current regression plan, I can pre-emptively modify the tests to reflect those changes,” Rasmirekha says.

“It’s magical,” Debadatta says. “We are actively encouraging our clients to move to low-code test automation with Testsigma.”
