# Bitrise

> Trigger Testsigma mobile test plans from a Bitrise workflow, the CI purpose-built for iOS and Android.

Bitrise is CI for mobile: iOS and Android builds on Linux and macOS. A Script Runner step executes your committed shell script and waits on the run.

## Prerequisites

- The [shell script](https://testsigma.com/docs/v2/integrations/ci-cd/shell-script/) committed as `bitrise.sh` to the app's repository, with `TESTSIGMA_API_KEY`, `TESTSIGMA_TESTPLAN_ID`, and `MAX_WAIT_TIME_FOR_SCRIPT_TO_EXIT` set.

## Set up the project

1. **Create a workspace**: open the workspace dropdown in the top-left corner, click **+ Create Workspace**, enter a name, and click **Create**.

2. **Start a project**: go to **Dashboard** and click **+ New Project**. In the **Choose how you want to get started** dialog, select **Start with Bitrise CI**.

3. **Connect the Git provider**: configure the app's privacy settings and click **Next**. In the **Provider** field, select GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket, then click **Connect account**.

4. **Authorize Bitrise**: in the tab that opens, click **Authorize**. On the **Install & Authorize Bitrise** screen, click **Install & Authorize**.

5. **Pick the repository**: select the repository that contains `bitrise.sh` and click **Next**. Choose a branch from the **Default Branch** dropdown and click **Next**. Bitrise then connects and verifies the repository, which can take a few moments.

6. **Open the build**: click **View 1st Build**.

If automatic configuration fails, select **Skip and configure manually** and click **Proceed**. Under **Configure your build**, set the **Project Type** dropdown to **Other**.

## Add the script step

1. **Edit the workflow**: on the **Build #1** screen, click **Edit Workflow**. You can define a custom workflow here and remove auto-generated steps you don't need.

2. **Add Script Runner**: click the **+** icon to add a step and search for **Script Runner**.

3. **Point it at the script**: expand the **When to run** section. Enter `./bitrise.sh` in the **Script location** field and `./` in the **Working directory (option)** field. Leave the other fields at their defaults and click **Save Changes**.

4. **Run the build**: return to the project and click **Start Build**. Watch progress and logs in the build run section; once all steps finish, the build is marked passed or failed based on the outcome.
