# Test Runs

> Create a test run, set its properties, and edit, clone, close, delete, or share one by public link.

**A test run** is a set of test cases gathered for execution, with assignees, statuses, and a schedule of its own. Test cases can be added by hand, pulled in automatically by filter, or added all at once.

This page covers creating a test run, its properties, editing, cloning, closing, deleting, and sharing one by public link.

## Create a test run

1. In the left navigation, open **Test Runs**.

2. Click **Create Test Run**.

3. On the **Test Run Details** page, enter a **Title**. A **Description** is optional.

4. Click **Add Test Cases**.

5. In the **Attach Test Cases** dialog, choose how to add the test cases, then click **Select Test Cases**.
   - **Select Test Cases Individually**: only the test cases you pick, with nothing added automatically afterwards.
   - **Adding Cases Using Filters**: every test case matching your filter criteria, based on test case properties.
   - **Add All Test Cases**: every available test case.

6. If you chose **Adding Cases Using Filters**, select the filters and their values, then click **Apply Filters**.

7. On the **Add Test Cases to Test Run** page, confirm the test cases selected.

8. Click **Attach Test Cases**. The **Test Run Details** page opens again.

9. Click **Create Test Run**.

To change the filters after the run exists, click **Update Filters** on the **Test Run Details** page. The test case selection updates to match.

## Test run properties

- **Assign Run**: the team member responsible for the run. Click **Assign Team Mate** to set it.
- **Schedule Run**: the start and end dates of the run, set with the date picker.
- **Test Environment**: the environment the run executes in, made up of an operating system, a browser, and a device.
- **Attach Test Plan**: the [test plan](https://testsigma.com/docs/arcus/v2/run-tests/test-plans/) the run is linked to.
- **Labels**: tags for categorizing and filtering runs.

## Edit a test run

1. In the left navigation, open **Test Runs**.

2. Click the ellipsis icon (⋯) next to the test run and select the edit option. Alternatively, open the **Test Run Details** page and click the pencil icon.

3. Change the **Title**, **Description**, or **Test Run Properties**. To change **Assignees** and **Status**, select the test cases in bulk first.

4. If the test cases were added by filter, change the filters to update the selection. You can also click **Update Test Cases**.

## Clone a test run

1. In the left navigation, open **Test Runs**.

2. Click the ellipsis icon (⋯) next to the test run, then click **Clone Run**. The clone is added to the **Active Runs** list.

## Close a test run

Closing a test run locks it against further changes.

1. In the left navigation, open **Test Runs**.

2. Click the ellipsis icon (⋯) next to the test run, then click **Close Run**. The run moves to the **Closed Runs** list.

A closed test run can still be cloned.

## Delete a test run

1. In the left navigation, open **Test Runs**.

2. Click the ellipsis icon (⋯) next to the test run and select the delete option.

3. On the **Delete Run?** dialog, click **Delete**.

## Share a test run by link

A public link lets stakeholders without an account see testing progress.

1. In the left navigation, open **Test Runs**, then open the test run.

2. Click **Share** in the top right.

3. In the **Share Test Run** dialog, turn on **Anyone with the link can view**.

4. Click **Copy**.

The link gives read-only access. Anyone holding it can apply filters to view specific test cases.
